Yet another challenge!
Yet another target!
As the reins of Indian Pediatrics Case Reports (IPCaRes) are placed in my hands, mixed feelings of joy and anxiety emerge in my heart and mind. The responsibility of steering ahead the journal seamlessly in a time-bound manner was intimidating and kept me gripped all through the past few months. But, with the gradual organization of articles and the final shaping of this issue, the strained nerves now ease out and a sense of fulfillment and ecstasy takes over.
IPCaRes, which is an official journal under the banner of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, patronized by its parent journal, the prestigious Indian Pediatrics, started its journey in 2021 and has developed from scratch to its present well-structured form over a mere 2 years. The credit for this goes to my predecessor and the first Editor-in-Chief of IPCaRes, Dr. Sharmila Bannerjee Mukherjee and her Editorial Board. With a systematic online Editorial Manager, this open-access journal has till date published over 200 articles, adhering to the standard international guidelines for reviewing and reporting.
It is our pledge to maintain the integrity and quality of the articles published in this journal. We also intend to incorporate more educational elements within the mandate of the journal, like “Teaching through Images,” “Systematic Review of Case reports,” and “Review of Literature enriched Case Reports and Case Series,” to attract more citations. The new section of “Clinical Quiz” is meant to stimulate interaction with readers, who can submit their responses at a dedicated Quiz e-mail id. Answers to the quiz will be published in the very next issue, along with the declaration of the winner who gives the first correct response.
As the saying goes, “every task is an opportunity” – Opportunity to learn, to explore, and to create. Hope that we, at the Editorial Board are able to utilize this opportunity and deliver our strengths and competence and continue to propel the journal toward academic excellence.
